Denver LASIK Surgeon

Have you ever wondered how much schooling is required to become a Denver LASIK surgeon?  It’s a lot, trust me.

If someone wants to become a LASIK surgeon they’ll have to go through up to 16 years of higher education after high school.  Not all physicians go through 16 years of schooling; it depends on the specialty chosen by the doctor.

The basic format is four years of undergraduate training followed by four years of med school and then a 3 to 8 year internship and residency.  As you can see, the education and training to become a Denver LASIK surgeon are the most demanding of any profession.

There is a way that a Denver LASIK surgeon can shorten the amount of time necessary to complete schooling since a few universities offer a mixed undergraduate degree with a medical school program which lasts six year as opposed to the usual eight years.

Denver LASIK surgeons go through rigorous training to become qualified

Before a student can get into medical school she has to go through pre-med training which involves learning the following:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • English
  • Math
  • Inorganic chemistry
  • Organic chemistry

To top that off they’re required to attend classes on humanities and social sciences.  I guess the humanities and social sciences are important since the Denver LASIK surgeon will be dealing with the public, after all.

While most medical school applicants have a bachelor’s degree and a few have advanced degrees the minimum requirement to get into med school is three years of college work.  There are approximately 146 medical schools in the USA which gives any Denver LASIK surgeon many options.  The tests to get into medical school are another story.

The tests that LASIK surgeons in Denver have to take are difficult

In addition to submitting college transcripts and scores from admission tests students also have to submit their extracurricular activities as well as have an interview with admission committee members.

Denver LASIK surgeons also have to prove leadership qualities and pass personality tests in order to be considered for admission into medical school.  And they must also come prepared with letters of recommendation from any one that will write one for them.

Once admitted into med school the student’s first two years will be spent in classrooms as well as laboratories learning biochemistry, anatomy, microbiology and medical ethics to name a few of the requirements that a Denver LASIK surgeon must meet.

After the first two years it’s usually a little easier for students because they know what’s expected of them and they’ve had time to adjust to what they’re getting into.

After med school the Denver LASIK surgeon must then go through a twelve month internship program before being able to enter a residency situation and depending on the specialty can last anywhere from two to six years of additional training.

"It has been three weeks since the LASIK surgery that has changed my life and I wanted to tell you that I could not be happier with the results of the procedure. I had severe nearsightedness with astigmatism. Looking back upon the entire experience from the initial screening to the recovery and follow-up, my only regret is that I did not do it all a lot sooner."
